Francisco Rodriguez I am an Industrial designer who was born and raised in the competitive fast paced environment that Southern California has evolved into and thrives on. I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Industrial Design from California State University of Long Beach, in 2009.
I am passionate, critical and forward thinking in my design aesthetic while considering product lifecycles and environmental impacts. Through thorough investigation and concept analysis, my designs identify opportunities that challenge most designers in creating unique solutions. My diverse experience ranges from furniture design and packaging engineering design, to business branding and graphic design.
After serving, in the United States Army, I finished my higher education to become a first generation university graduate. I developed distinctive traits in the Army such as working under high stress while maintaining attention to detail and leading groups to success. I also learned skills such as multi-cultural communication and effective problem solving. While I worked on my Bachelor's, I coupled my knowledge with valuable internships. After graduation, I was hired at American Foam & Packaging where I worked for almost five years mentoring and cross training colleagues, engineering challenging design problems and managing projects for high profile clients like Honeywell to Skullcandy. During that time I discovered an entrepreneurial desire that drove me towards exploring freelance design. Looking for challenges has inspired me to seek my next adventure.
While working at JLA Art the challenges of working with limited budgets and manufacturing capabilities has enable me to have a profound understanding of the design phrase "less is more".
I am currently working on my own brands and creating original design solutions that shape our lifestyle.
I am an adventurous person looking for boulders to climb, trails to hike and the right waves to catch. Strategically calculating my next move, as I do in design, I choose my next adventures.
